Phonics Stars™️ is an educational and interactive club which provides classes for children in the Early Years (two to five years) and their parents or carers. We also hold private classes within preschools and nurseries as well as after school clubs for foundation stage children.
We provide the foundations for learning in a fun, active and stimulating environment, supporting children's transition into formal education and helping with school readiness.
During the class children learn the main letter sounds combined with engaging movements, actions, dance routines and build muscle strength. We help to bring letter sounds to life through play based learning, and if needed extending learning.
There are a range of activities provided. These offer children a variety of learning opportunities which link to the Early Years Foundation Stage, letters and sounds, fine motor, coordination, some number work – and they all connect with the main theme of the week.
Activity Challenge Time is specifically tailored to support the development of letter recognition, development muscle strength, letter formation, pencil grip and build on motor strength to form a foundation to support writing as well as an opportunity for children to share, take turns and develop good social skills. Listening is key when learning phonics; therefore listening games are used throughout the class.
Children and adults have fun taking part in the lively 'Disco Dough Gym' using and building those muscles in the shoulders, arms, hands and fingers and work across the midline. Not only is this great fun but by following instructions and actions children can develop into strong super writers!
Dancing out the formation of the 4 letters families to 'Shake it Mark Make It' helps children to learn holistically and encourages children to work across the midline, which also leads into mark making, early writing and letter formation.
All of the games and activities provided offer young children of all abilities a range of learning opportunities which link to the Early Years Foundation Stage, letters and sounds.
